Our Mission
Women Listen is a group that promotes the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of women living with cancer. Our mission is to share information, offer emotional support and practical ideas, advocate for people with cancer, and connect women in meaningful ways. Our mission is represented in our name, Women Listen, which stands for: laughing, informing, supporting, talking, empowering and networking. All are welcome, from just diagnosed to long-time survivors.
We became a non-profit organization with federal tax exempt status in September 2004.
Our Activities
Weekly Support Group Meetings - Every Friday morning from 10:00 until 11:30. We meet in the Metro Bookstore (on Benson just south of the Sears Mall) Contact Us if you like, or just show up. You'll find us at the big table by the window.
Biannual Retreats - Women Listen holds twice yearly nurturing retreats where women are free to indulge in creative and relaxing activities of their choosing. They spend time sharing, laughing, playing, enjoying healthy food, learning... Scholarships are available so that any woman with cancer may attend regardless of financial situation.
Other Creative and Nurturing Gatherings - From time to time, we have other meetings, such as hot tubs, full-moon gatherings, and creative activities. Contact the group for more information. List of upcoming events.
