Supporting Women Living with Cancer
Welcome to Women LISTEN. We offer weekly support group meetings Friday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30 for Alaskan women who have experienced cancer. We meet in person at the YMCA of Alaska at 5353 Lake Otis Parkway in Anchorage.
You can also attend the meeting via Zoom video. For your Zoom meeting invite, please email womenlisten@gmail.com.
All are welcome to join us - from newly diagnosed to long-time survivors. We also offer other special events and retreats.

Alaska Run for Women
The June 6, 2026 Alaska Run for Women was a fun success! Our Women LISTEN team came in first place for number of team members in our category and amount of money raised!
Next year you can join us by registering with the Alaska Run for Women and choosing team name "Women Listen" to join us in person or virtually.
2026 Special Events
- Our third annual "National Cancer Survivors Day" garden party was held on June 7, 2026. Cancer survivors and their families joined us from 2 to 5 pm at the Lydia Selkregg Chalet in Russian Jack Park to enjoy food, conversation and fun activities. Many thanks to our co-sponsors - Let Every Women Know, Anchorage Young Cancer Coalition and Us Too support groups, as well as the American Cancer Society. Our popular fly-fishing retreat returns to Chugiak Saturday August 15, 2026.

Our 2026 "Rise and Renew" Fall Weekend Retreat will be held in Seward this year September 25–27, 2026
- Thank you Alaska Run For Women for your generous 2025 grant which enables Women LISTEN to offer our 2026 Rise & Renew Retreat to 10 breast cancer survivors.
- The retreat is available free of charge to women who have had a diagnosis of any cancer and are at any stage in their survivorship.
- The three day / two night weekend retreat is limited to 12 women. Applications are due by August 15th.
- Join us for a memorable weekend of nature, relaxation, connection, camaraderie and personal growth.
